Book: The Sleep System

The Sleep System: 28 Days to Better Sleep, is a pragmatic guide to designing the sleep you love. Created by Wellbeing X Design’s Megan Mazzocco, WELL AP + Faculty and Be Well Lead Well Certified Guide, The Sleep System employs a design thinking approach to deconstruct unhealthy sleep habits and reconstruct a healthy sleep hygiene. Taking an integrative approach to your behaviors, habits, and mindset surrounding sleep, Megan guides you through 28 Days of Sleep Renewal.

The Sleep System takes advantage of the five senses to immerse you in embodied sleep rituals that invoke neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to rewire to learn to associate new sensory cues with sleepiness. These sleep “tips” are statistically significant, published methods to enhance optimal sleep architecture.

The Sleep System includes prompts and journal space that guides participants to notice and jot down the effects of implementing each new sleep habit. After reading The Sleep System, you will understand:

  • Your chronotype
  • What temperature you sleep best at
  • How to sooth your brain to sleep using sensory cues
  • How to recover after sleep disruptions
You are a creator, so just like a good recipe made with love, your creativity brings value to this process. Enjoy the journey, and relish the well-rested results!
